So, for my creative writing class, I used a random plot generator (http://www.plot-generator.org.uk) to create a short story this is what I made of it. Keep in mind that this site does come up with the weirdest stuff... It was, however, actually entertaining.
"Another one?" Detective Sam Spencer asked the crime scene analyzer.
The analyzer, Peter Jones, nodded. "Ten murders in ten weeks, all done with gun," he said, shaking his head, "and then ripped apart by wild animals. Not a pleasant way to go, huh?"
Sam sighed. "Well, at least we know how they were killed, now we just need to know why."
Her partner, Head Detective Alex Burnes, walked up to her. "We got an ID on the body yet?" He asked the pair of them, worry laced in his voice.
"No, why?" Sam and Jones said at the same time.
Burnes sighed. "Well, they finally identified a couple of the other bodies, and it turns out that they all have ties to the police" He told them, running a hand through his disheveled hair.
"Like, they were all arrested, or..." Sam trailed off.
"Like, they were all friends and family of cops," he said pointedly. "You may want to check in on your brother, you know, just in case."
Sam nodded. "I'm on it." She assured him.
She called her brother, Devyn, on his cell phone, and when she got no reply to that, she tried the home phone. No luck there, either.
Sam turned back towards Burnes. "He's not answering either of his phones," she explained worriedly. "Should we drive over there?"
Burnes shrugged. "I suppose so." He said evenly.
They reached Devyn's one story rambler. Nothing seemed out of place. Not yet, anyway. Sam opened the door without hesitation.
"Samantha," Burnes snapped in annoyance, "be careful. I don't want to pay for any damages."
Sam glared at him, and he (thankfully) shut up. She disappeared into the kitchen, and reappeared a moment later, holding a weathered black notebook. Her face was pale.
"Look at this," she said quietly. "This isn't his."
Burnes did look at it. On the first page of the notebook, crudely drawn in red Sharpie, was a stick figure holding a gun to another figures head. Written beneath the drawing were the words 'I WIN'.
